Há mais de 20 anos ininterruptos venho desenvolvendo um ministério com grupos pequenos. Meus filhos cresceram vendo e participando de reuniões de grupos pequenos em nossa casa. Vi minhas igrejas alegres e felizes reunidas em grupos pequenos. Tenho acompanhado e contribuído no desenvolvimento de grupos pequenos pelo Brasil e em outros países também. Lembro-me das dificuldades do início. Todo início é difícil; todo pioneiro sofre para abrir caminhos e seguir por estradas íngremes e não aplanadas; por visualizar algo que somente ele enxerga naquele momento. Mas tem valido a pena cada dia, cada trabalho, cada noite mal dormida, ou mesmo não dormida por este ministério. Estamos vivendo um grande momento. Tenho visto o bem que os grupos pequenos têm trazido às pessoas, às famílias, às igrejas, numa corrente de otimismo e felicidade, ao redor do mundo. Sinto profunda simpatia e gratidão por todos aqueles que laboram neste mesmo ministério.
Quando iniciamos nosso Portal de Pequenos Grupos – Células foi com o objetivo de servir às igrejas. Ainda no final dos anos 90 e início da nova década e milênio, percebemos que um site seria um caminho importante para incentivar, orientar e, se possível, ajudar líderes e pastores que tivessem alguma necessidade e nutrissem a mesma paixão por grupos pequenos. Percebo que, de alguma forma, isso tem sido uma realidade. Aproveito para me solidarizar com aqueles que nos têm visitado, especialmente os de outros países como Estados Unidos, Cabo Verde, Rússia, Japão, Portugal, Venezuela, Suíça, França, Itália, Canadá, Espanha, Moçambique, Angola, Inglaterra, África do Sul, Guatemala, Nova Zelândia, Porto Rico, Argentina, Israel, Alemanha, entre outros. Talvez vocês estejam enfrentando severas dificuldades não somente com os grupos pequenos, mas com a própria pregação do Evangelho. Como tenho dito: Resistir sempre, desistir jamais. Talvez você não veja, mas certamente “a nuvem do Senhor” (Êxodo 40:38) está sobre você, sobre todos nós.
A Great Moment (English version)
For over 20 uninterrupted years I have developed a small group ministry. My children grew up watching and participating in small group meetings in our home. I saw my churches joyful and happy meeting in small groups. I have watched and contributed to the development of small groups in Brazil and other countries too. I remember the initial problems. Every beginning is difficult, every pioneer struggles to open paths and follow steep and not flattened roads, to view something that only he sees at that moment. But it has been worth every day, every work, every sleepless night, or even not slept at all through this ministry. We are living a great moment. I’ve seen the good that small groups have brought to people, families, churches, in a current of optimism and happiness around the world. I feel deep sympathy and gratitude for all those who labor in this ministry.
When we started our Small Group Portal – Cells it was aimed at serving the churches. In the late 90s and in the beginning of the new decade and millennium, we realize that a website would be an important way to encourage, guide and, if possible, to help pastors and leaders who have some need and nurture the same passion for small groups. I realize that, somehow, this has been a reality. I take this opportunity to express my solidarity with those who have visited us, especially those from other countries like the United States, Cape Verde, Russia, Japan, Portugal, Venezuela, Switzerland, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, Mozambique, Angola, England, South Africa , Guatemala, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Israel, Germany, among others. Perhaps you are facing severe difficulties not only with small groups, but also with the very preaching of the Gospel. As I have said: Resisting ever, and ever giving up. You might not see, but surely “the cloud of the Lord” (Exodus 40:38) is upon you, on us all.
